An accidental photo of Gracie, mother of little Georgie Girl. My flash was dying at the time I took this. Although way too grainy, I like how her one visible golden eye echoes the color of the pet bed.

Sorry there've been no comments from me lately, but I've been quite ill for the past 2 days with a fever of 102+ degrees.

A profile shot of Georgie Girl soaking up the sunshine. She's barely more than a little ball of fluff.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Greycoat is such a great subject. He's handsome; he never complains; and he often poses for me without being asked. Who could ask for more?

Is it the surface of a faraway planet in outer space?

Nope, just a piece of firewood absolutely covered in this interesting fungus. The textures intrigued me enough to make it my photo of the day.

P.S. -- Petsmart is having a holiday photo contest which ends today. I submitted two photos over the weekend. Would you mind stopping by their site and voting for me?

Closeup of a sleeping Daisy Puss.

Taken with my new permanent camera, the Canon SX10, with my new permanent Canon Speedlite 580EXII hotshoe flash. :-)

Greycoat shows off his bow-tie. :-)

Thanks everyone for your comments on yesterday's picture of Daisy. It's been a hectic few weeks and I hope to catch up on the dailies this weekend.

InOurTime, if you see this, please please keep posting pictures of New York City, because we had to unfortunately cancel our trip plans at the last minute. I'm living vicariously through your lens now. :-)

Our 10-year-old grumpy-faced Daisy Puss, backlit by the sun. This is one of the best shots I've ever managed to take of her. In spite of the fact that she's a fuss budget with everyone but us, we love her dearly.

Daisy was the only name that came to mind when we first found her. It was also was my grandmother's name. Granma was a stubborn, fiercely independent, headstrong yet elegantly dainty lady, characteristics which sum up our little feline girl to a "T".

My grandmother passed away 3 years ago today at the age of 93.

A little something different from me today. This is Mark's 1953 Jaguar Mark VII. The other night when we had such a storm, he ran out in the pouring rain at 3:00 a.m. and moved it from its somewhat protected but low-lying location in the back yard to a higher corner of the front yard so that it wouldn't flood from beneath.

I liked the reflections on the hood and headlamps. View at largest possible size for best detail.

Have replaced the new defective camera with the same thing but from a different store. I'm too tired to even take it out of the box, let alone play with it, but maybe tomorrow.

This is Greycoat, our 7-1/2-month-old, who perched on the back of my recliner just long enough for me to capture this shot.

This was taken with my new Canon SX10, which sadly will need to be returned tomorrow, only 3 short days after purchase, as it has one very consistently annoying flaw -- in every single shot, at least 2 pixels are completely blank!

Someone else who reviewed this camera had the same problem, so it may be a manufacturing defect across several units. :-( Otherwise, I love it to pieces! (Thank you Kim!)

Is it a little black kitten or a BIG BLACK BEAR???

Bashful at play isn't someone you want to mess around with! No sweet kitty picture from me today. ;-)

For what it's worth, I was extremely lucky to catch this - my camera has an unbelievably frustrating shutter lag and staunchly refuses to focus in low light, even with a hotshoe attached. Still, I'm annoyed that I cut off her ears!

(But I love those claws -- view at largest size for scary detail!)

And what is it about me and cat tongues? You'll notice hers is stuck out ever so slightly!
