shutterbuglady > November 14th, 2008 Thank you to everyone who comments on my photos. They mean so much to me! And even if I don't always have a chance to return the favor, I'm usually at least giving thumbs ups whenever I can. This is our sweet little Georgie Girl, one of our foster kittens, perched on the edge of the desk and illuminated by the warm rays of afternoon sunshine. She's a tiny little thing, closely resembling a black cotton ball, which is why her fur looks so confused. :-)

I should clarify that this is our side yard, which faces south. We have a table & chairs on our tiny falling apart deck which we take full advantage of during good weather.

shutterbuglady > November 7th, 2008 Thank you to everyone who commented on my front yard photo from yesterday. You certainly know how to boost my confidence. :-) Our baby is all grown up! This is Christopher, now known as Max, perched on my pocketbook. I visited with him and his sister Ebony (aka Joy) at their new home yesterday. They just turned 4 months old on Election Day. Some of you may remember Christopher from this early photo. This isn't quite as sharp as I would've liked, but he's so darned cute, I couldn't resist posting it as my daily. And get a load of that nail polish! (Actually, they're little covers for each claw called Soft Paws, to protect a cat owner's furniture from scratches.)

shutterbuglady > November 4th, 2008 Oliver and his sister Sherlock are nearly 13 years old. They just lost the only home they'd ever known because their owners had a baby not long ago who's severely allergic to cats. Our rescue group is trying to find them a new permanent home, but as you can imagine with older kitties, it's more difficult. The volunteer who's safe-housing them asked me to come over a few weeks ago to photograph all 15 cats at her house. Oliver wasn't the least bit afraid of coming right up to me to see what I was doing and nuzzling my hand. He's a sweet old fellow and I hope someone will welcome him into their home soon.

Thank you to everyone who commented on yesterday's photo of Thisbe. She was a very special girl and I feel fortunate to have been able to capture her essence on her last day with us. Have a busier-than-usual week ahead, so will have limited time online. :-(

shutterbuglady > November 2nd, 2008 Mark asked me to post this as one of my pictures of the day, and since I'm out of town today anyway, this seemed like the perfect time. Thisbe (pronounced Thiz'-bee) had the softest silkiest fur you could possibly imagine, far better than any mink coat. She and her brother Pyramus (named by my husband for two Shakespeare characters from "A Midsummer Night's Dream") were a joy, with each displaying uniquely different personalities. Thisbe was the petite sweetheart while Pyramus was the lumbering and gluttonous fat cat. They died within a few years of each other, both succumbing to cancer. This was taken on Thisbe's last day with us on May 1st, 2001. We miss her still.
