shutterbuglady > November 3rd, 2009 Another shot from the Charlotte, NC Settlers' Cemetery. It was dark enough that the street lamps came on automatically. This is best viewed in a larger size. We stopped by to see my mother last night on the way home and decided on impulse to stay overnight. Hadn't seen her since Mother's Day last May! For those who remember her double bout with cancer last year (breast & lung), she's doing as well as can be expected post-surgeries. No chemo and no radiation was needed, something for which we are very thankful.
shutterbuglady > July 14th, 2008 We're out of town this week in Durham, NC for my 71-year-old mother to meet with her breast cancer surgeon. Surgery is next week; she already underwent lung cancer surgery two months ago. She's my hero! This is the best I could come up with today, as we've been traveling since 8:00 am this morning and it's now 7:00 pm. Lavender crape myrtle trees, along with a brilliant blue sky, are reflected in the mirrored walls of our hotel. Considering how we've had nothing but heavy rain for the past 24 hours, this was a welcome sight! Am hoping to catch up with comments on everyone else's pictures sometime later tonight. Sorry I've not been able to keep up, but have been on the road the last two days.
